I’m. So. Exhausted.
Yesterday took it out of my something fierce. My appetite is endless today. My legs are sore. My knees hurt from getting tweaked while postholing.
I slept in as much as I could, which is depressingly little.
I’m just excited to have a slow, lazy day.
I met the group for lunch. We chatted about plans forward and are planning on leaving tomorrow. Grazer brought me my bag of stuff I left at Hidden Valley Ranch. I continued to advocate for a double zero day. I think they’ll come around — everyone looks absolutely wrecked. We’re all sunburnt from the reflection of the sun in the snow. We’re all worn down. I’m just a little less so because I chose a shower and a bed.
I got my laundry done and ran it all through two cycles. It looks better than it has in a few weeks. And it’s so nice to have clean clothes on a clean body.
For dinner I went to the Merry Go Round, the local Chinese restaurant. I ordered their Singapore curry noodles, which were delightfully spicy, and their chicken egg foo young. I met the nicest van lifer, Bee, and saw the owners of Two Foot Adventures who live close by.
Around 10 I got the most beautiful text message. It was from Alpine saying the group wanted to extend to a double zero.
I passed out, happy.
