I’m Eddie. By day I’m a physical therapist assistant who enjoys photography. By night I’m a karaoke fiend.
I have been interested in backpacking since I was a kid. Unfortunately I was never able to try it out, despite my adoration of the gear. Mind you, this was before internal frame packs, before ultralight equipment, and before super portable camp stoves.
I was a Cub Scout for most of my childhood and joined Boy Scouts in my adolescence, but quickly tired of knot races and the bullying. I dropped out of the scouts before we could really go on a great camping trip, and never tried backpacking. Luckily, my dad was an avid camper and would take my brother and me camping whenever he could.
My first backpacking trip was in 2017 when I was dating a young woman after I had gone through a divorce. I took to it like a bee to nectar. It gave me a life inside myself I didn’t knew I had.
After that, I hiked the Tahoe Rim Trail with her and a group of friends in 2019. Then in 2021 I hiked the Wonderland Trail solo. Now I have my sights set on the PCT, or Pacific Crest Trail.
I’m proud to be part of this season’s Trail Correspondents podcast by The Trek and I have a number of other interests which I’m passionate about and want to share with you. Please explore any of the following links.
