Last night was a riot. Georgia had a birthday party (oh to be 23 again) and we went to the Budpharm to celebrate with her. It was a small ordeal, and Dart was there! It’s always a blast to see him.
Georgia was fun! She had some poi which I enjoyed spinning a bit. And we all played around with some harmonica and guitar. Eventually the owner of the house/institution brought out the pet bearded dragon, Blueberry, and we took turns holding him.
On the way home we managed to snag a super lucky hitch. It was about 10:30 pm and two ladies who clean AirBNBs picked us up. Trail towns really are magical.
Anyway. This morning was epic. I made chilaquiles for everyone and it went over great.
After that we ran a few shopping errands, like going to the hardware store (where they have some great hiking gear).
We went to Grizzly Cafe for lunch which was way overrated. The sandwich there needed a jus or spread on it and the bread pudding had the texture of cold soaked oatmeal. Blah. Bland.
After that we went back to the AirBNB and made dinner. Roasted chicken, potatoes, and sautéed kale with tomatoes. Rafael left in the morning and Dylan and Laura came in his stead. We all watched a few episodes of Alone. Then Dylan, Laura, and I stayed up until about 11 talking.
Tomorrow it’s back to trail! I hope I didn’t lose too much momentum.
Still want all the food. What’s poi? I love bearded dragons. It sounds like a literal party out there!
Yeah, what’s poi? And geez Louise, where are the pictures of Blueberry?
A person reading your trail blog would be thinking you’re always eating so well. It seems like you talk about food more than you talk about hiking. LOLOL. I’d like to know what you’re eating most of the time on the trail. And if you’re using your camp stove often.
Poi are balls on chains, or balls inside tube socks. You spin them around!
Unfortunately I didn’t get any photos of blueberry
